Financial Survival - having an adequate financial plan and enough financial resources to fulfill basic daily needs. A very large part of our society lives life at or below this level from birth to death. In this land of opportunity where paupers can and do become wealthy, many people never rise to a level above survival. They refuse to change the way of thinking, work more hours to earn more money, which keeps them in the prison of day to day financial survival.
Now let’s look at what most people would consider true Financial Security!
Financial Security - having an appropriate financial plan and enough financial resources to adequately fulfill any daily needs and provide most, if not all, of the realistic desires of an individual. This is the life of people who have followed a different way of thinking to a path of true financial security. They chose to look beyond the traditional hourly wage linear income and seek the financial security provided by residual income.
You must understand that there was a time when we were not much different than you. We could either choose to move forward and seek true financial security, or stay where we were, doing what we had always done (one definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result). And what we had always done certainly had provided financial survival and perhaps a little more at times. We were working very hard at our jobs; all the while limited by the very concept of linear income, there aren’t enough hours in the day to work enough in order to create true financial security. It seemed the guys at the top were the ones realizing their dreams, not us. At some point, we had accepted that this was our lot in life and that there was little hope for a more promising future. We had bought into the thinking that the only way to improve our income was to:
Get a raise
Get a better job
Work harder
or work more hours
Then we were introduced to a very interesting financial opportunity and we were faced with a decision. Did we want to continue doing what we had always done or were we ready to change the way we had always thought about earning our income?
